Dr Kavvadia Extra Virgin Olive Oil Lianelia
A remarkable olive oil from one of our favourite places on Earth: Corfu. Lianelia is the predominant variety found in Corfu. Most trees are of centenarian origin, dating back at least 300 years. The olive oil produced contains surprisingly high levels of antioxidant polyphenols, which according to many studies are beneficial in many ways for our health. An olive oil with a well balanced fruity, bitter and pungent. Spicy and aromatic with a beautiful aftertaste.
Dr. Kavvadia was an orthopaedic surgeon who lived on the island of Corfu many years ago. The Doctor’s greatest passion was producing olive oil from his centenarian olive grove, from a local variety called "Lianelia".
Dr. Kavvadia was among the first producers worldwide to produce and bottle two rare and local varieties, Lianelia and Thiako, and was the first producer ever to win gold quality awards in New York and Tokyo, showing the potential of the olive oil.
