Plum - Mirabelle
Beautifully sweet and irresistibly juicy, the mirabelle is often called the queen of plums. Its golden skin, lightly speckled with rosy blushes, hides tender flesh that becomes almost jelly-like when perfectly ripe. Enjoy them fresh for a taste that captures the essence of a Mediterranean summer, or cook them into fragrant jams, tarts, and pies.
Originally a wild fruit from Asia Minor, the mirabelle plum is now a celebrated speciality of France’s Lorraine region. Traditionally harvested by gently shaking ripe fruit from the tree, only the finest plums are picked, a method still honoured today, even with modern techniques.
Available from July to September - enjoy them while they’re in season.
