Originated from Middle Age, when the town of Gouda was the only place allowed to sell the cheese, Gouda is one of the most popular cheese in the world, and can be eaten young or aged up to 5 years.
Our Gouda is 4 years old. It comes from the city of Gouda in Holland. Nearly 200l of milk is needed to make one wheel of cheese. The rind is not edible.The texture is waxy, crumbly and can be a little sticky. On the nose aromas of chocolate and caramel are noticeable, on the palate, notes of butterscotch, toffee, caramel. Salty finish.
