France - Chateau La Bastide Corbieres Blanc
Corbières is perhaps better known for its red wines, but this is an excellent example of its whites, from an historic property in the far north of the region, just to the south of Minervois. A blend of typical south of France varieties are aged on their lees for six months, a portion fermented in new oak barrels to give extra richness and complexity, producing a rounded, medium-bodied white, floral, and aromatic with bright, ripe fruit and underlying mineral freshness. This wine will marry well with fish cooked in sauce, poultry, and white meats.
